You can join with friends and family or colleagues from your company as well. A team fundraising page can be provided to make fundraising easier, though each participant is responsible for reaching their individual fundraising commitment.

Definitely. You will meet new friends from the moment you join. There will be a kickoff event or web conference, fundraising events, facebook groups by event, team workouts, virtual clinics on topics like nutrition and injury prevention and updates on the Sixcycle training app. In other words, you will be supported by plenty of help 24/7.

You could start your training as early as six months prior to your event, but your training schedule/cadence may depend on the distance and sport you choose and when you register for the program. We recommend starting a training regimen no less than four months before an event, but that may vary based on experience and physical fitness.

You can participate in TEAM IN TRAINING regardless of your current fitness level. Many TEAM IN TRAINING teammates are first timers! You will be connected with a coach who will assign a training plan on the Sixcycle app that is based on your fitness level. We have beginners all the way to seasoned athletes, many of whom have participated in TEAM IN TRAINING multiple times. Our training plans provide sufficient time for you to get prepared for your event. Coaches will provide feedback to help you improve and reach your fitness goals.

Not necessarily. However, your coach may advise adding some cross training to improve your performance and complement your scheduled workouts.

Absolutely! There is something called run/walk. That is an option to run for a certain amount of time and then walk and continue to alternate between the two. The walk phase allows your body to recover from the run phase enabling you to go the distance.

Your coaches will give you advice on nutrition, proper hydration and tips on refueling post-workout. We also provide a Nutrition Clinic via web conference with a licensed Nutritionist.

Once you join, your coaches will advise you as to what you will need - for example, running shoes or workout clothes - and how to get it. If you're signing up for a triathlon you may need a bicycle, swimwear, etc. Once again, your coach will steer you in the right direction.

The registration fee of $100 secures your spot on the team. This amount gets credited to your fundraising account as a personal donation, which essentially jumpstarts your efforts. The amount will display on your website so friends and family see that you have already made an investment toward your goal.

Team In Training's goal is to raise money for the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), which is to find cures for blood cancers. In exchange for raising funds, and to support your efforts, you will receive a fundraising website, fundraising advice, a training plan for your event and access to experienced coaches. You are also connected with an Honored Teammate, someone affected by a blood cancer willing to share their story for added inspiration.

The Fundraising Commitment is the amount required to be raised based on the benefits you choose associated with the event you register for.

In addition to support along the way in fundraising and training, you will receive benefits during your event weekend including race jersey and a pre-event inspiration dinner. Depending on the event and the fundraising commitment that you select, you may also receive a race entry into your event and access to a shared hotel room. Bike shipment may also be included for cycling and triathlon events for a higher fundraising commitment.

We provide you with all the tips, tools and fundraising support to not only reach your fundraising goals, but surpass them. When registering, you will receive a fundraising page, and we provide you with an online fundraising toolkit and support.

Your fundraising page can be personalized and we can provide information on how to start an email and letter writing campaign as well as best practices for social media. Most teammates raise a majority of their funds through these efforts.

To supplement those funds, you can hold local fundraisers, leverage corporate sponsorships and matching gift programs as well. Team In Training is the first and largest endurance sports training program in the world and is set up for you to succeed!

The fundraising commitment is due the Monday immediately following your event you will be asked to securely enter a credit card during our Commitment and Event Weekend Reservation process. You will be notified prior to your event weekend of the amount we have on record for you as having raised to date, including any matching gifts that have been promised for donations you received. After your event, if you have not raised the full amount that you committed to, the credit card you provided will be charged the difference. You will also be notified of this amount before any charges are made.

Prior to the Commitment and Event Weekend Reservation process you are able to withdraw from the program without any penalty or obligation.

If at any point during the season you are unsure of your fundraising progress or need new and different ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out to your staff contact so they can help make a plan to get you to your goal!

Someone once said: “All the things that are worth doing take time.” You'll find that once training begins, you'll fall into your own schedule – one that's right for you. You also have the option of virtual training that is powered by our Sixcycle training app – providing you with the ability to train on your own, rather than attending in-person group workouts, with virtual support from our network of coaches and a training plan for your event.

Training locations are selected based on several factors including number of teammates in the area, permits and accessibility.

If you don’t have local training in your area, you can still train virtually using the Sixcycle app. Many teammates appreciate this because they don't have to travel for trainings, while remaining connected to coaches and teammates via Sixcycle. On event weekend, everyone meets and gets to enjoy the experience together regardless of how you trained for the event.

Although you are encouraged to attend as many of the trainings as possible, it may not be possible to attend all of them. The coaches will provide you with a detailed training schedule so that you will know what to do on your own during the week and on the weekends if you miss a group session. If you are traveling, you are welcome to attend a training session at any of our chapters across the country with advance notice.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the largest voluntary health organization specifically focused on finding cures and better treatments for blood cancer patients. With the scope and scale to fund many projects at the same time, LLS supports hundreds of cancer scientists around the world.

LLS is committed to funding research to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. Monetary donations to LLS are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws and are invested wisely in cancer research and patient assistance.
