Our knowledgeable and accessible coaches will work with you on form,
nutrition and apparel so that you are ready to do your best on race day!
Your team captain and fundraising mentor, former team members, will provide
you with moral support throughout the program. Your honored teammate, a
local child or adult survivor of blood cancers, will give you the added
motivation to keep training and to push hard on the day of the event.
In return, participants have the opportunity to help LLS succeed in its
mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma
and to improve the quality of life of our patients and their families.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY and served in the US Navy from 1952—1956. I married
in 1973 and lived in New Jersey until I moved to Florida in 1978. I was a
Florida licensed health insurance agent and retired in 2000. I was diagnosed
with cancer in 2006 and went through many different treatments. I attended
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society support meetings regularly and also joined
Gilda’s Club. I have attended the Light The Night event where I walked the
entire distance! I am a volunteer at health south and volunteer for the Red
Cross. In October 2006 I was diagnosed as being in full remission! I try to
keep busy and hope to continue my relationship with The Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society as long as I am able, as they have been a big help to me!
