Last Chance Event

When: Thursday, February 11 @ 6:30pm

Where: The Hill (416 3rd Avenue btwn 29th & 30th Sts, Upstairs)

What: Learn about our upcoming events from coaches and staff, and meet other interested participants! Food Will Be Provided and The Hill offers Drink Specials.  The Hill also invites you to stay after the meeting for the Michigan v Minnesota game.

Informational Happy Hour

When: Thursday, February 18; Arrive anytime between 7pm-9pm

Where: Pop Burger Midtown (14 E. 58th Street btwn Madison & 5th Ave, 2nd Floor)

What: Not sure when you can get out of the office? This is the meeting for you!  Arrive anytime between 7pm and 9pm to hear about the program and have all your questions answered by coaches, staff, and past participants.  Food Will Be Provided.

Team In Training Provides:

  • Personalized Coaching by Certified Coaches
    • Group workouts 2-3 times a week (one or two weeknights, one Saturday morning)
    • Monthly training calendars
    • Weekly detailed training calendars including what to do if you miss a group training
    • Clinics on nutrition, injury prevention and gear
  • Airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, race entry, bike transport (triathlon & cycle)
  • Apparel for training and race day (all events); a wetsuit (triathlon) 
  • An inspirational Pasta Party before your race and a Victory Party afterwards
  • The experience of a lifetime, training with an amazing group of people to help save lives!

In exchange, we ask participants to raise funds for blood cancer research, education, and patient services.  To help you with your goal, we will provide you with a fundraising website as well as group and one-on-one fundraising clinics to provide you with some out-of-the-box ideas on how to boost donations.

 


 

Joining the Team:

We are Currently Recruiting for Summer Season. Training will Begin in Late January or February, Depending on Event. Summer Events Include (click heading for event details):

 

    

 

Triathlon:

  • Nautica New York City Triathlon  

Marathon & Half Marathon:

  • Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon & 1/2 To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (San Diego, CA)
  • Lake Placid Half Marathon (Lake Placid, NY)

Cycle:

  • America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride (Lake Tahoe, NV)
  • The Ride to Montauk (Montauk, NY)

Half Marathon:

  • New York City Half Marathon (March 21)

Triathlon:

  • St. Anthony's Triathlon in St. Petersburg, FL (April 25)
  • Wildflower Triathlon in Monterey, CA (May 1 & 2)


 

About Team In Training:

Team In Training is the world's largest sports endurance training program and the most successful fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  The program provides training to run or walk a full or half marathon, or participate in a triathlon or 100-mile bike ride.  Participants will raise funds for blood cancer research and patient services in exchange for personalized training, airfare, lodging, and race entry for over 20 national events.

 

Since its inception in 1988, Team In Training has trained 420,000 athletes and raised over $1 billion for blood cancer research and patient services.
