Many corporations and businesses will match funds raised or donated by their employees to charitable organizations. Talk with your human resources personnel, and have your donors talk with their employer's human resources personnel, to find out their company?s policy. Most companies require The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to complete a form to verify that the donation was received at the chapter.  In some cases, this can be done online. 

Here are the steps to make sure a donation gets matched:

1. You receive a check from a donor with matching gift paperwork. 
1. Do not fill out any part of the paperwork, LLS staff will need to do this. 
2. Send the check in to Paycor with a participant donation form like you would normally. 
3. Send the paperwork in to the LLS office so we can confirm the donation and notify the matching company.
4. Most matching companies pay matching gifts quarterly, but some may only donate semi-annually or annually.  For this reason, it may take anywhere from 2 months to 10 months to receive a matching gift.  For this reason, it is VERY important that you submit checks to be match to Paycor and matching gift paperwork in a timely fashion. 
2. If you receive an online donation by credit card:
1. Your donor can still send you their matching gift paperwork.  If this is the case, please send the paperwork in to the LLS office.  Do not fill out any part of the paperwork.
2. Many companies have online matching gift paperwork.  Your donor can simply fill out their company?s matching gift paperwork online, making sure to indicate the New Mexico/El Paso chapter office, and LLS will receive a notification.
3. Even with online matching gifts there can still be a delay in the time a request is submitted and when LLS actually receives a check.

If, at final funds, you are still waiting to receive matching gift donations, we will account for those donations from companies with proven matching histories with our office.  If you are waiting on matching gifts to be received at final funds, please let the Team In Training staff know, don?t assume we are aware of matching gifts you may have outstanding. In the event that an unknown company's matching donation is not received at the chapter in time to meet the deadline, you will be asked to make a personal contribution to meet the difference. Once the match is received, you will be eligible to receive reimbursement for the personal money that you paid to meet the balance.

Click here for a list of companies with matching gift programs.  This is not a comprehensive list, there may be some companies that match donations that are not listed.  It may also be the case that a company has changed their matching gift policy and no longer match gifts.
