Welcome to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society North Texas Chapter's Team
In Training® program! Team In Training is the world's
largest endurance sports training program. The program provides
training to run or walk a full or half marathon or participate in a
triathlon or 100-mile (century) bicycle ride in honor of blood cancer
patients and survivors.
By helping to raise funds for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research and
patient services, you'll receive:
- Personalized fitness training by certified coaches for a period of four
to five months, sport specific training clinics and support, and a
personalized training schedule.
- Fundraising support and ideas, including your own personal Web site for
online fundraising.
- A supportive group of teammates and a connection to the cause through
our honored hero program.
- Lodging and airfare to more than 60 accredited events in the United
States and abroad. Teams are forming now for our Spring
events!

Meet Jacob Norvell, one of our North Texas Honored Heroes! Jacob was
diagnosed in May-2006 at the age of 4 with ALL. The first nine months
of Jacob's treatment were very intense, including weekly spinal taps and
several blood transfusions. Jake went into remission within a few
weeks of chemo, and he is still doing very well. He is currently
undergoing "maintenance" chemo, meaning he takes most of his chemo medicine
from home, and only has to visit the doctor's office once a month and have
spinal taps once every 3 months. Jacob faced this challenge with a
huge heart, and he is the strongest kid I have ever met. His slogan
is "Small but Mighty" and that phrase fits him to a "T!"
(Written by Jacob's mom--and TNT participant--Rebecca Norvell)
