Team In Training's cycling program offers the opportunity to take on the challenge of 100 miles and make a difference in the lives of an estimated 912,938 Americans living with blood cancers. Along with a customized training program and expert coaching, participants train with a local group of like-minded individuals for motivation and inspiration. Looking for cycling inspiration? University Medical Center 27th El Tour de Tucson, presented by Diamond Ventures
November 21, 2009
The ride starts and finishes at Granada, south of Congress in downtown Tucson, with cyclists touring the scenic perimeter of the city. The most unique feature of El Tour is its two river crossings. At two points along the route, cyclists must cross a "wash," which may or may not have water in it. Cyclists generally dismount and push, drag or carry their bicycles across the sand/rocks/mud. Bridges are built especially for the day if the water is flowing. This ride is 109 miles. In addition, there are also 81, 66 and 35-mile routes.
