Join the Virginia Chapter
during Team In Training's 20th year of saving lives!
In 2008, Team In Training (TNT), the world's largest
sports endurance training program, celebrates its 20th year of saving
lives, one mile at a time. Since 1988, more than 380,000 TNT
participants have raised more than $900 million for lifesaving cancer
research and services to help blood cancer patients live longer, better
lives. Now, we're aiming for the $1 billion mark, and you can help
make it happen!
We train runners, walkers, cyclists and triathletes of all
fitness levels to complete half and full marathons, century rides and
triathlons. In exchange for training and support, participants
fundraise to help support the LLS's mission: To cure leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of
patients and their families.

When Ed Stone joined Team In Training at age 26, he had
already learned the hard way that "what doesn't kill you
makes you strong." As a young college student, he was
diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, a cancer that
nearly ended his life. It took a risky bone marrow
transplant to save him. During the next 13 years, he
battled and persevered through two additional types of
cancer.
As if battling cancer weren't enough, at the same time, Ed
trained with TNT for no less than 12 events, including
marathons, half marathons, century (100-mile) bike rides
and eight triathlons!
"Cancer and the challenges of treatment taught me a few
things about endurance," said Ed. "When I learned I could
train with TNT and raise funds for cancer research to help
others, there was no stopping me."
Ed is living proof of the "mind-body connection." He has
beaten cancer and evolved into a world-class athlete. He is
the living answer to the question: "I wonder if I could do
an endurance event?" And the answer is, with "Team In
Training, yes you can!"
