The Training

Team In Training® provides participants with a non-competitive, comprehensive training program that prepares athletes to compete in run, walk, cycle or triathlon endurance events.

The training program is designed and implemented by experienced and certified coaches. The training consists of a personal daily workout schedule, as well as, opportunities to train with a group. Team sports clinics will cover such topics as swimming, biking, running and walking form, as well as, nutrition, injury prevention, event day strategy, and clothing & equipment selection.

The program takes new athletes with a minimal base of training, and builds them up gradually over the course of the program to near race distance over the course of the season, tapering the training off 2-3 weeks prior to the event weekend.

The coaches serve as a resource and expert advisor, throughout the training season. Participants are encouraged to contact their coach anytime they have a question or concern about their event or training.

Words to Run By:

"Many times, the things that get in the way are the "little things" that you aren't supposed to sweat! (well, that's what I've "heard" :-))  If life is trying to get in the way, you have the trump card, a bigger goal that you ARE going to achieve - you ARE going to make it through your race and you ARE going to help those with blood cancers. And, those little things that are getting in the way?  Think about the fact that for most of you those little things ARE NOT - "I spent three hours in the chemo chair", or "my bones really ache because I had to administer a shot of neupogen into my own stomach while at work so that I am ready for my next round of chemo" or, "the doc says I have to stay away from people because my immune systems are down" - as a matter of fact, this is exactly the reason WHY you ARE going to get out the door and do your run, right?"
