I guess I would say that I am thankful for my life and my family. Thankful for the ability to have children after going through 2 1/2 years of treatments for Leukemia. Thankful for meeting such a great group of people in TNT. Thankful that I have to opportunity to celebrate 19 years as a survivore on January 6, 2011 and thankful that on January 9, 2011 I was able to push my body and mind to conquer the marathon with Team In Training.

It is not about the race or the finish time but the element of hope. I would be thankful if my life story and abilities physically on race day can lift the spirits and maybe provide a little hope to someone going through cancer treatments.

There are no words that can properly express what it is like to have to fight everyday for life or for family members to sit by and only have the ability to watch. I can only share my experience of the fight for survival and the ability to stand up to cancer now. I am finally thankful that through Team In Training I can better understand what it is like to be a cancer survivor and see what still needs to be done.
