Each Team In Training® participant can train in honor or memory
of someone from their personal life who has been affected by cancer.
Participants can also train and fundraise in honor of a local team honoree
who is a blood cancer patient or survivor.
Brittan
was
diagnosed with leukemia in 2002 at the age of 11. After months of
intense chemotherapy and God?s many blessings, as well as the
incredible support of our family and friends, Brittan won her battle
against this very ugly disease. She is now a healthy 17 year old, a
senior at Reagan HS and very excited about the opportunities awaiting
her in the future. "There are few lives that are not touched in one
way or another by this disease. Together, we can make a
difference. I hope you will join us in this effort".
Linda
was diagnosed with Leukemia in November 2005? "I took on 7 rounds of
intense chemo which almost killed me to go through. However, I did it
with a smile on my face. Whether it was going to be life, chemo or
death, I went through it knowing that what ever happened I had no choice
but to endure it. What I could choose was to smile, laugh, and love
through whatever for however long it would take. My friends and
family made that possible and have my humble gratitude for enduring all
that comes with standing along side a person battling cancer. I
returned to my life only 10 months after I had been diagnosed and only 2
months after my first round of chemo. I celebrated my 2 year anniversary of
the day I was diagnosed, cancer free! I plan to
celebrate them all that way! Life is what you make of it! So
smile, laugh, love and live (as long as you can)! I thank you and my
family and friends thank you, for your contribution so that others my
survive as I have."
