Bobbi
Amaker started with Team in
Training as a participant in 1997. She trained in honor of a 7
year old girl, Paulina. Bobbi remembers "Paulina was really sick
when I started with Team in Training, and one day her mother said she
was so sick from chemo that she couldn't sit up in bed. The very
next day on a long training run, I started feeling very tired, but I
thought, Paulina couldn't sit up yesterday, I can take another
step. I'll never forget crossing the finish line and breaking
into tears as I thought about the whole season, the fundraising, the
training, the friends, the mission. I still get very emotional every
time I cross the finish line with Team in Training." Bobbi
continued with Team in Training as a Mentor, Training Captain,
Assistant Coach, then Coach. Since 1997, she has completed
numerous full marathons and half marathons with Team In
Training. Recently, she completed a Century -100 mile - bicycle
ride and several Triathlons and has earned her Triple Crown for
fundraising and completing all 3 sports Team In Training participates
in. Bobbi is a Team In Training Certified Run/Walk
Coach.
