Each Team In Training^® participant can train in honor or memory of someone from their personal life who has been affected by cancer. Participants can also train and fundraise in honor of a local team honoree who is a blood cancer patient or survivor.

 Sal

Sal participates with our Nike and Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio team and is also one of our distinguished Fall 2009 Honored Heroes.  In February of 2004, he was diagnosed with non- Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After receiving treatments, he is now in remission and doing well.  Sal is getting back to some of life's simple pleasures, such as spending time with his wife, Sylvia, and children, Paul, Natalie, and Catherine.  As an Honored Hero, Sal wants to live as an exceptional example for those who have cancer and are fighting for their lives.  He says "I hope to live my life in a way that will honor them and all who have died fighting it."

 Andy

Andy is one of our valued Fall 2009 Honored Heroes who has always enjoyed living an active life!  This active life style lead him to an interest in our Nike and Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio marathon team.  He is currently in treatment but has plans to get back to running, staying fit, and playing video games.  As an Honored Hero, Andy wants to help inspire teammates to complete a half or full marathon.  His personal mantra is "Live-strong".
