Many corporations and businesses will match funds raised or donated by their employees. Talk with your human resources personnel, and have your donors talk with their employer's human resources personnel, to find out their policy. Most companies require The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to complete a form to verify that the donation was received at the chapter. Once the donation is received at Paycor and LLS receives the matching gift paperwork, LLS will complete our portion and communicate with the company to receive the company match check.  Please be sure that any matching gift requests you submit comply with the matching company's guidelines.

Please be aware that some companies send matching checks annually or quarterly so it is critical to begin the process as quickly as possible to ensure that your matching check is received at the chapter in time for your final fundraising deadline. 

In the case of companies with proven matching histories with our office, we can credit your account with the matching funds on receipt of the form. Please be aware, once we have received and approved the matching gift paperwork from the company, it can take up to two weeks for the match to post to your fundraising website.  In the event that an unknown company's matching donation is not received at the chapter in time to meet the deadline, you will be asked to make a personal contribution to meet the difference. Once the match is received, you will be eligible to receive reimbursement for the personal money that you paid to meet the balance. 

Frequently asked questions about matching gifts:

Where should I send the matching gift paperwork and donation?

We ask that you send the donation to our accounting center (Paycor). The matching gift paperwork should be sent along with a copy of the corresponding donation to the LLS office. When your donation is verified, the chapter will complete the matching gift form and process from there.

Will the match be posted when the forms are completed?

In the case of companies with proven matching histories with our office, we can credit your account with the matching funds on receipt, review and approval of the form.  It can take up to two weeks for the match to post to your fundraising website.  In rare cases where there is no experience with the company's matching program, the match from the company will not be posted until LLS receives the promised check from the company.
