Why Walk with TNT?
Walking is a great way to revamp your stagnant exercise routine and increase your fitness level. Team In Training (TNT) offers a top-notch program for walkers designed to take you from zero to the finish line in a four-to-five-month training period. Zero, you ask? Yes, zero, as in, "I haven?t done any regular exercise in ages!"
The TNT walk program is designed around a weekly schedule that consists of approximately 45-60 minutes of walking per day, four to five days per week, with a longer, team walk on Saturdays. At these weekend team walks, you will slowly build your mileage and endurance in the company of your teammates, mentors and coaches. There is no better way to motivate yourself to exercise than to workout with friends!
Daily workout schedules are provided so participants know how much ground to cover each day. The training program is designed with the busy person in mind.
Our knowledgeable coaches will help you reach your full potential!
TNT walk coaches have designed three- to five-month training programs that prepare participants for their target events, and coaches are available throughout the week to answer training- and fitness-related questions.
Once you join TNT, you will enjoy the guidance of our of certified walk coaches and will learn proper walking technique, stretching and flexibility exercises, what shoes and other gear to wear, how to hydrate and fuel properly, injury prevention tips and much more. In short, you will learn everything that you need to know to be able to train and complete your event safely and happily.
Mentors
TNT walkers will be matched with a past TNT participant who is also a current member of the team. This mentor will serve as a resource and peer advisor, encouraging team members throughout the training and fundraising season.
Honorees
TNT members train and raise funds in honor of a personal connection to blood cancer, or in honor of a local resident who has been affected by a blood cancer. Your honoree becomes your inspiration as you work toward goals that will better both of your lives. We have an Honoree Captain, who ensures your connection with the mission is powerful and inspiring, reminding you every day why you are doing something extraordinary.
