BMO Bank of Montreal Vancouver Marathon  Vancouver, BC - May 3, 2009
Canada's largest marathon takes place in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.  The mostly flat, paved course starts at BC Place Stadium's south side, loops around the inner harbor of False Creek and back past the start line.  Runners and walkers then pass through historic Gastown and into the beautifully forested Stanley Park, they then exit on the south side and cross the Burrard Street Bridge to the spectator-filled cafes, beaches and beautiful homes of Kitsilano neighborhood before crossing the finish line at the Plaza of Nations.  A half-marathon option is also available and features much of the beauty of the full marathon course.

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon San Diego  San Diego, CA - May 31, 2009
San Diego's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon® was the largest first-time marathon in history.  The walker-friendly, seven-hour course has a band at each mile, high school cheerleading squads on the course and a post-race concert.

Runners and walkers take an expanded tour of downtown, including Petco Park, the historic Gaslamp Quarter and the San Diego Harbor. Following the downtown excursion, the course travels up beautiful Highway 163 and races by the bayside communities and Sea World, ending at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Point Loma.

Mayor's Marathon and Half Marathon  Anchorage, AK - June 20, 2009
The Mayor's Marathon and Half Marathon is a walker friendly, 8½-hour course that travels through beautiful Anchorage, AK.

The marathon event is 26.2 miles in length, beginning at Bartlett High School and traveling through the eastern foothills and across Anchorage to the West High School finish line. Scenic city bike trails, gravel, rocky and paved roadways make up this gently rolling to extended downhill course. The race is sanctioned by USA Track and Field and is recognized by the Boston Marathon as a qualifying event.

The half marathon is 13.1 miles and travels down West Northern Lights Boulevard for three miles and then follows the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, past Earthquake Park and Point Woronzof, until it finally turns around at mile 6.5. The return route follows the Coastal Trail for six miles until it reaches Westchester Lagoon. The last mile follows the marathon course to a shared finish line.
