Each TNT participant is given a training schedule from their certified coach geared to helping you get from the beginning to the finish line in under four months. How do I fundraise for LLS?
There are many ways to raise the necessary funds to complete the TNT program. Developing a good plan and starting early is the key to success, you will find that raising the funds is easier than you think. Remember, over 30,000 people reached their goal last year.
Once you sign up for the program, you will be invited to a fundraising clinic to learn our three steps to success: letter writing, online fundraising and fundraising events. Usually 70% of all funds donated are raised through the letter writing campaign and online fundraising. Your online fundraising website is set up when you register - all you have to do is personalize and email it to your contacts. Several other ideas include parties, coin jars, garage sales, silent and live auctions, corporate fundraising and more! Staff and mentors are available to assist with your fundraising to help you reach your goal throughout the season.
Can I run, tri, cycle, walk, or hike in honor of someone I know?
Absolutely. Many of us know someone personally who has been affected by blood cancers. An honored teammate is someone you are doing the event in honor or in memory of. He or she is usually a loved one, friend or family member who has been affected by a blood cancer.
What if I don't know anyone with a blood cancer?
If you do not know anyone that has been affected personally by a blood cancer, you will have a team honored teammate. He or she provides inspiration to the team and supports TNT participants throughout the training period.
