Welcome
to the South Carolina Chapter of
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training®!
We're so happy you're visiting!
Team In Training (TNT) is
the world's largest endurance sports training program.
Since 1988, more than 380,000 volunteer participants have helped
raise over $900 million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society. Members of TNT raise funds for blood cancer research and
patient services as they train as a group to complete an endurance event in
honor of a community member affected by leukemia, lymphoma or
myeloma. Participants may choose to train for a variety of endurance
events, such as:
Full (26.2 mi) and
half (13.1 mi) marathons (walking or
running)Triathlons
Cenury (100 mi.) bike
rides
From the beginner to the seasoned pro, TNT
offersthe opportunity to get fit, make memories,
and make a difference in the lives of
others.
We are still recruiting members
to join our winter teamand train for

When Ed Stone joined Team In Training at age 26, he had
already learned the hard way that "what doesn't kill you
makes you strong." As a young college student, he was
diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, a cancer that
nearly ended his life. It took a risky bone marrow
transplant to save him. During the next 13 years, he
battled and persevered through two additional types of
cancer.
As if battling cancer weren't enough, at the same time, Ed
trained with TNT for no less than 12 events, including
marathons, half marathons, century (100-mile) bike rides
and eight triathlons!
"Cancer and the challenges of treatment taught me a few
things about endurance," said Ed. "When I learned I could
train with TNT and raise funds for cancer research to help
others, there was no stopping me."
Ed is living proof of the "mind-body connection." He has
beaten cancer and evolved into a world-class athlete. He is
the living answer to the question: "I wonder if I could do
an endurance event?" And the answer is, with "Team In
Training, yes you can!"
