Century Rides (Cycle)

Team In Training's cycling program offers the opportunity to take on the challenge of 100 miles and make a difference in the lives of nearly one million Americans living with blood cancers. Along with a customized training program and expert coaching, participants train with a local group of like-minded individuals for motivation and inspiration.

Upcoming Century Rides

Team In Training (TNT) is looking for cyclists for the events listed below.

Please note that participation in a TNT event is subject to the local availability of group training and transportation arrangements. Please consult the TNT staff at your local chapter for additional details.

Teams are now forming for these great events!

Training Program

TNT provides a noncompetitive, comprehensive program to prepare you for an endurance cycle event. The program is designed with the busy person in mind, so most weekday workouts are 45-90 minutes or less, with longer workouts on the weekend.
Designed and implemented by professional cycling coaches, the training program consists of daily workout schedules (including rest days!), team workouts on alternate Saturdays and occasional Sundays, and information clinics on bike handling, nutrition, stretching, injury prevention and bike maintenance.
We will assess your ability at our early rides and then place you in a ride group that fits your comfort level on the bike. Each ride group has riders of similar pace, a coach, and ride support staff. You get individual training for your ability and the safety of riding in a group.
During the week, you do strength training and riding on your own. We give you a calendar that tells you what to do each day. We recommend you get in at least 75% of the training, and make certain 'milestone' team rides (where we cover 40, 60, and 80 miles) to help the coaches gauge your progress.

Prerequisites and Equipment

TNT welcomes all levels of experience, with light prerequisites. Our training program is designed to turn the beginning cyclist into an endurance event finisher and to help seasoned riders meet their training goals.

You will eventually need everything listed below. After Kickoff your coach will show you what you need, what you might want, and what to look for. As a TNT participant you receive a training shirt at Kickoff and an event jersey before your event.

Most participants get a road bike, but some people prefer a mountain or hybrid bike. No matter what kind of bike you ride, we recommend that you use road tires (not the knobby kind) to make it easier. If you don't have a bike yet, our coaches will help you select or borrow one. You do not need clipless pedals, but you must have a helmet!

  • Helmet and bicycle
  • Cycling shorts, sunglasses and shoes (recommended)
  • Spare inner tubes, tire levers, bike pump
  • Water bottles (and cages) or hydration pack

Check our listing of upcoming Information Meetings and RSVP to attend.
