Welcome to the Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter's Team In Training ® (TNT) website!

 

What: TNT is the world's first, best and largest endurance sports training program, providing first timers and seasoned athletes the opportunity to achieve their best while running or walking a marathon or half marathon, cycling a 100-mile century ride, or completing a triathlon or hiking adventure.  This unique program provides you with the coaching, training and motivation to make your athletic goals a reality! In addition, you'll travel with your teammates to amazing travel destinations for an incredible event weekend experience.

 

Why: In exchange for unsurpassed endurance sports training and support, you raise money to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

 

  • Every 4 minutes one person is diagnosed with a blood cancer.
  • Every 10 minutes someone will lose their battle with a blood cancer.
  • Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20.
  • An estimated 912,938 people in the United States are living with, or are in remission from a blood cancer.

Marathons and Half Marathons

 

        

 

 

  • Disneyland® Half Marathon (13.1 Mile Walk or Run), Anaheim, CA - September 5, 2010

Chase your Dreams at the Happiest Race on Earth!  The course winds through the City of Anaheim, California and the Disneyland® Resort.  Run through Sleeping Beauty's Castle and high-five your favorite Disney Characters along the way.  There's a little magic around every corner for the whole family!

 

  • Nike Women's Marathon, A Race to Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (13.1 or 26.2 Mile Walk or Run), San Francisco, CA - October 17, 2010

First of all, this event is NOT just for women, guys!  This is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's biggest event because Nike puts this race together just for us!  Whether you choose to run or walk a full marathon (26.2 miles) or a half marathon (13.1 miles), you'll have the experience of a lifetime! The race kicks off in downtown Union Square and will traverse through the historic and scenic "City by the Bay."   You'll look forward to the famous "chocolate mile," where Ghirardelli candies are handed to you as a little "pick me up." You won't want to miss the pedi-station (about 1/2 way through the race), where you can give your feet a little pampering as well!  And, if all this was not enough, a very attractive fireman in a tuxedo will be presenting your finisher's medal/necklace to you from Tiffany's!  What more can you ask for?  

Triathlons

 

   

 

  • Nautica Malibu Triathlon (Olympic and Sprint Distance Triathlon) -  Malibu, CA - September 11-12, 2010

It's Racing with the Stars!  Race alongside your favorite celebrities, including: David Duchovny, Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Lopez, David Hasselhoff and Mario Lopez!  This beginner friendly course is flat, fast and perfect for your local friends and family to come watch you compete!  Just when you thought it couldn't get any better you also have your choice of distance: compete in the Olympic on Saturday and watch the stars on Sunday OR get pumped up cheering for your teammates on Saturday and race with the stars on Sunday.  Competing in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon is the role of a lifetime! 

 

  • The Nation's Triathlon? to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (Olympic Distance Triathlon) - Washington, DC - September 12, 2010

The Nation's Triathlon, the only triathlon in the country dedicated to building awareness and raising money for the treatment of leukemia and blood-related cancers, raised $2.4 million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society last year with nearly 600 athletes competing and raising funds!  The Nation's Triathlon takes place in a dramatic setting, our nation's capital. This truly unique experience has participants swimming in the Potomac River, and biking and running past the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and many other spectacular landmarks! 

 

Century Rides

 

 

 

  • Cool Breeze Century Bike Ride (60, 100, or 120 Mile Cycle), Ventura, CA - August 15, 2010

This cycle event starts in the early morning, usually with misty skies and cool temperatures.  This ride through Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Montecito is a great first time century. The course has a few hills, some beautiful farms, orchards and meadows. Of course, we can't fail to mention the stretch of gorgeous coastline you get to ride near, spying for dolphins frolicking in the waves! And the traditional popsicle at the last rest stop tastes pretty darn good after this scenic ride!    

 

5Ks and 10Ks

  

 

  • The Coaster Run 5K or 10K, Buena Park (Knott's Berry Farm), CA - April 18, 2010

Run, Walk, and Ride the coasters! How can you pass up an event that ends with a complimentary slice of Boysenberry pie? 

 

  • Cinco De Mayo (PCRF) 5K or 10K, Irvine, CA - May 2, 2010

This fun family event is replete with mariachi bands, a terrific Kids Fun Zone, a huge festival area, and a beer garden for the adults.  Guests enjoy amusement and games with the Laker Girls, the Angels Strike Force, the mascot of the Anaheim Ducks, along with many other fun and festive happenings.  Don't miss this great event!

 

  • Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society -  (6.55 mile walk or run) - June 6, 2010

Rock 'n' Roll RELAY! We will team you up with 3 new friends and you will each run 1 leg of the marathon (6.55 miles) to complete the event together!  Voted Best Race and Best Post-Race Party by Competitor Magazine, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego is a unique event that combines running with entertainment.  This flat, scenic course features live music at every mile and over 2,000 screaming spectators cheering you to the finish line... in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series you are the headlining act!
