Team Up! Captain Roles for Fall 2009

 

 

Team Captain Roles:

The Team Up!  Captain is a TNT participant who would like to share their

Team In Training experience with co-workersors, friends and family members  by recruiting and retaining a team of 5 or more participants for a specific TNT event.

Recruitment Roles:

 

Team Captains need to register 5+ participants in order to take part in the incentive plan and start a group fundraising website. (In order to secure 5+ registrations, it is recommended Captains should have between 8-10 interested leads).

 

TNT will supply recruitment materials, general info, and e-mail templates to help captain promote to their companies or network of friends or family. *For Corporate Teams, the Captain is responsible for either securing the support of the company to promote to the employees, or engage fellow co-workers on a "grass-roots" level.

 

The Team Captain will book and confirm a date and location to hold an  info meeting. If a location in-house in unavailable, the Captain can work with TNT staff can to set up a special meeting at the LLS offices or Conference Call for interested parties.

 

Team Captains should work with TNT staff to follow up with interested leads post-information meeting.

 

Group Fundraising Option:

         

For the first time in 2009, Team In Training will offer the opportunity to use a Team Fundraising Page. *This page is to be used in addition to each team members personal fundraising website.

 

Each participant will still be responsible for their fundraising minimum, and is heavily encouraged to use their personal fundraising website.

 

The Team Fundraising Webpage should be used to request donations from shared contacts and networks (co-workers, vendors, family friends, potential sponsors, etc).

 

The designated Team Captain will start, update, and monitor this site throughout the season.

 

Captains are also required to work with their team to:

        • Create and update their team site
        • Create a list of possible donors the team site can be sent
        • Work with team members to promote the page (fundraising letter)
        • Organizing 2 team fundraising clinics with TNT Fundraising Captain or staff (before and after recommitment) 
        •  Create follow up e-mails and thank-you's for team site
        •  Track both online and offline donations

         

 Group Fundraising Restrictions and Best Practices:

 

      • Donations received via Group Fundraising Website will be distributed evenly between all participants automatically unless otherwise specified by the Team Captain prior to the beginning of the season.
      • Offline donations, matching gifts and sponsorships can be submitted to each participant's Paycor account  through the Team Captain via the Paycor donation submittal form.
      • Submitted donations cannot be transferred from team member to team member once in Paycor. Group fundraising donations cannot be transferred from season to season. If a participant from the team discontinues from their event before the final fundraising deadline, only group fundraising donations can be soft-credited to the remaining team members.
      • Once again, the group fundraising webpage is meant to be used as a supplimental fundraising resource for collecting "team" funds and reduce the competition for donor dollars between teammates.

 

Captain Incentives: 

  • A Team Captain will receive a 15% Discount when 5 or more participants register (including the Team Captain)
  • The Team Captain will be eligible for additional 10% discount if his or her team retains 75% of their members after Recommitment!

Team Incentives:
