Caring for our Patients
Patient Services: Caring for our Blood Cancer Patients
Patient Services provides education, as well as emotional and financial support to patients and their families touched by blood cancers. We provide education and resources for healthcare professionals, and advocate for public policies that affect our cancer community.
Patient Financial Aid Program
Provides $100 per year for all blood cancer patients, regardless of income, to help cover some costs associated with transportation, drugs, and treatment.
Co-Pay Assistance Program
Provides assistance of $5,000 to $10,000 per year for eligible, insured blood cancer patients. To inquire, call (877) 557-2672, email copay@lls.org, or visit our website at www.lls.org/copay
Family Support Groups
With professional guidance, patients and family members can gain information and support from others who share similar experiences. (Call for current dates, times and locations)
Patti Robinson Kaufman First Connection
Patients and caregivers learn coping skills and gain hope from trained volunteer survivors, who share their special perspective on the recovery process.
Education Programs
We offer educational materials and programs free of charge to help clarify treatment options and strengthen decision-making and coping skills for patients and their families. We also have programs for health care professionals, with continuing education credits for nurses and social workers.
Information Resource Center (IRC)
Health professionals are available at (800) 955-4572 to provide accurate, up-to-date information on blood cancers. The IRC is also available on the Society's web site (Live Help online) at www.lls.org
Advocacy
Advocacy volunteers contact their elected representatives to promote government research funding and improvements in public health policy.
Back to School
The Society provides a wealth of informative print and A/V materials that help assure a child's smooth transition from treatment back to school and the activities of daily living.
Honored Hero Program
Honored patients and families provide inspiration for our fundraising events, fueling their efforts to raise funds that support research and help patients.
