Upcoming 2007 Fall Season Events

Sunday, September 16
Maui Marathon and Half Marathon (Maui, HI)   Point-to-point, from Kahului to Kaanapali on the island of Maui, this 26.2-mile course is recognized as one of the ten most scenic marathons in North America.  A major portion of the full marathon course runs within 50 feet of the cobalt blue Pacific Ocean. The half marathon starts and finishes in Whaler's Village.  Walkers welcome for the full and half.

Sunday, October 7
LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon (Chicago, IL)   This is the 30th anniversary of The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon and it is one of the best-organized marathons in the United States.  It features a great Expo, over a million spectators, bands along the route and a fast course that tours ethnic neighborhoods that visitors to Chicago rarely see!

Sunday, October 21
Nike Women's Marathon, A Race to Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (San Francisco, CA)  The Nike Women's Marathon is a spectacular race course for both the full and half marathons; a tour of some of the most breathtaking sites in San Francisco.  The race kicks off in downtown Union Square, winding through the financial district past the Transamerica Building, then along the San Francisco Bay past Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, the Marina Green's Harbor, and more, while exposing breathtaking views of Alcatraz and The Golden Gate Bridge.  It then proceeds through the Presidio, along the shoreline, out the Richmond District to the "Great Highway".  The race will then continue down the Great Highway, through Golden Gate Park and then south for a circle around Merced Lake and back to the "Great Highway" where it will finish overlooking the incredible Pacific Ocean.

Sunday, November 17
First Magnus 25th El Tour de Tucson (Tucson, AZ)    El Tour de Tucson is a ride for cyclists of all ages and abilities, yet there is a racing component to the event that has attracted top competitive cyclists from around the world. The ride starts and finishes at Granada south of Congress in downtown Tucson.  The cyclists tour the perimeter of scenic Tucson.  The most unique feature of El Tour is its two river crossings!  At two points along the route, cyclists must cross a "wash" which may or may not have water in it.  Whether there is water or not, cyclists must generally dismount and push, drag or carry their bicycles across the sand/rocks/mud.  Bridges are built especially for the day if water is flowing.  This ride is 109 miles! In addition, there are also 81, 66 and 35-mile routes.

For Fall 2007, we are organizing teams in the following areas:

  • Metro Jackson
