FREDERICK/WASHINGTON COUNTY AREA
Bob Brown - Head Coach



     A "roadie" for many years, I have completed numerous century rides, including Lake Tahoe and six Sea Gulls.  I am proud to serve as a TNT cycle coach so that I can help others feel the "rush" one gets when crossing the finish line after a 100 mile ride. Supporting TNT also allows me to continue to honor the memory of my father-in-law, Ed, who lost his battle with leukemia several years ago.

     I have been participating in the Team in Training program since 2001. I started as a Team Maryland member , went on to become an alumni , a mentor and now a coach. I enjoy the best of both worlds in that I can teach the love of cycling and while doing so, having teammates to join in the fight against blood borne cancers. This is a great job!

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY AREA
Tom Moore - Head Coach

 
     Tom was introduced to "Team In Training" by Damian Magarelli, the Maryland Campaign Director. The success of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and an opportunity to coach cyclists fit well into Tom's plans to coach cyclists.
     Tom began serious cycling back in July 2001 at 45 years of age when he received a "hand-me-down" bike and began training on his own. At 220 lbs. 38 inch waist Tom could not even ride around the block. In two months Tom dropped 40 lbs lost 4inches on his waist and completed his first Seagull Century. One year later Tom completed his first 500 mile 7 day event. In the Spring of 2003 Tom entered his first race.
     He has been coaching for Team in Training since 2006 and has coached the last five cycling events including "Seagull Century" and "America?s Most Beautiful Bike Ride". Tom has coached over 50 participants and each one has completed their goals.  
     He has completed over thirty centuries and three 7-day 500 mile events. Tom is a member of the Team Latitude Bicycle Racing Team, and typically races about 15 -20 times a season. He is also a group fitness instructor and cycling instructor who enjoys cycling and looks forward to time on his bike.  Tom looks forward to helping you reach your goals as well.
