Hi!
My name is Cody Dixon and I have AML Leukemia. Before I was diagnosed, I was very sick and I didn't want to play with my friends. I just slept a lot and sat on Mom's lap. I had fevers all the time. Finally, we ended up at this huge hospital (Johns Hopkins). I was so scared because they gave me lots of needles, which made me cry and scream a lot.
The doctors were very scary at that time. I was there for a very long time, I got to know the doctors and nurses. We even had some fun shooting each other with syringes filled with water, or riding the tricycle around the nurse?s station with my mom behind me with my chemo pole. It drove the nurses crazy and it really made me laugh when I drove them crazy, they loved every minute of it!
Thanks to my family and the doctors, I am feeling wonderful and my blood is clean. I hope that I can give other people hope, and to let them know that they can beat this and any CANCER.
