Triathlons

Team In Training's triathlon program offers the opportunity to take on the challenge of swimming, cycling, and running an Olympic-distance triathlon and make a difference in the lives of nearly one million Americans living with blood cancers.

Along with a customized-training program and expert coaching, participants will train with a local group of like-minded individuals for motivation and inspiration.

Please note that participation in a TNT event is subject to the local availability of group training and transportation arrangements. Please consult the TNT staff at your local chapter for additional details.

A triathlon is a multi-sport event that combines swimming, cycling and running and is among the most intense endurance challenges. Whether you are looking to step up the distance or complete your very first triathlon, Team In Training is the program you are looking for!

Team In Training® (TNT) will be training participants to complete a sprint or an Olympic/international distance triathlon under the leadership of our experienced coaching staff.

Distances  (Approximate)
Sprint: 0.5-mile swim, 15-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
Olympic/International: 0.9-mile swim, 25-mile bike, 6.2-mile run

The TNT triathlon program includes group training sessions, which will be held twice a week in various locations. These sessions serve as an opportunity to meet your fellow teammates, as well as for your coach to assess your progress. Clinics will also be held on training basics, injury prevention, nutrition and equipment needs. Wet suits will be provided to all recommitted participants.

In addition to the bi-weekly group trainings, your coach will provide you with a comprehensive training schedule, mapping out the mileage and duration for each day of the week. Our schedules, which are based on the athlete's fitness ability and triathlon experience, allow a person of any skill level to reach his or her goal.
