Century Rides (Cycle)

Team In Training's cycling program offers the opportunity to take on the challenge of 100 miles and make a difference in the lives of nearly one million Americans living with blood cancers. Along with a customized training program and expert coaching, participants train with a local group of like-minded individuals for motivation and inspiration.

Please note that participation in a TNT event is subject to the local availability of group training and transportation arrangements. Please consult the TNT staff at your local chapter for additional details.

TEAMS ARE NOW FORMING FOR THE FOLLOWING EVENT:

America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride

WHEN: June 3, 2012
WHERE: Lake Tahoe, NV

DISTANCE: Century (100 miles), 72 and 35-mile options available
WHY: Join us for one of the most sought after bike rides in the country!

America?s Most Beautiful Bike Ride is celebrating years of scenic and awe-inspiring rides around beautiful Lake Tahoe. Spectacular scenery, clean mountain air, great food and full support by experienced ride organizers make this ride a ?must do? for any avid recreational bicyclist.

The ride circumnavigates the highways clockwise around Lake Tahoe in both Nevada and California. It includes a challenging 800 foot climb to a rest stop overlooking Emerald Bay and a 1,000 foot climb to Spooner Junction. There are also many short rolling ascents and descents totaling over 2,600 vertical feet of elevation gain! The altitude ranges between 6,300 feet and 7,100 feet above sea level. All participants must be experienced in riding roadways.

Rest stops offer a great selection of food and beverages and scenic views in Emerald Bay, Homewood Mountain Resort, in Truckee (for Century riders), Kings Beach (Lunch), and Spooner Junction.
