Hear from TNT Participants
"It was simply INCREDIBLE and EMPOWERING. Fears were conquered, physical limits were tested and new passions found."
- Erin, first-time triathlete and Vineman 2011 Finisher
"When I reached Mile 23 of my first race, I literally sat down on the side of the road and sent a text message to my coach telling her I was giving up. She was at the finish line with the rest of my team as they had already finished the race. She encouraged me to get up -- and then she, along with several other team members, came back out onto the course, found me and finished the race with me, cheering and clapping as I crossed the finish line. It was one of the best experiences of my life -- and why I signed up for TNT again!!" - Jeanne Sarmiento Ward
"I came for the training 8 years ago and stayed for the cause. This is the most meaningful and rewarding thing that I do with my life and it keeps me sane." -Chuck Fowler, GLA Walk Coach and Survivor
"I joined TNT because I wanted to do something for my cousin Samantha who was diagnosed with Hodgkin?s Disease in 2010. I?d always wanted to run a marathon but her diagnosis was definitely my motivation to pursue the opportunity. My favorite TNT moment was mile 7 of my first event. I was exhausted but saw a woman (who I later found out was Virginia, an honored teammate) carrying a sign on the course that said ?THANK YOU TNT, LEUKEMIA SURVIVOR?. I felt myself tear up and pushed to keep going. It was then that I remembered why I started this in the first place. Since then I?ve become a half marathon addict. I LOVE IT! Go Team!" - Julie Guevara
"It became wonderful to have the support of my coaches, Teammates, and all the TNT staff. They helped me become the Ironwoman that I fought so hard to be! I have enjoyed my experience and feel so lucky! I CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!" - Sandra
"No matter how bad my work week is, I know there's a group of selfless, like-minded cancer fighters waiting for me at the finish line, no matter what distance we're covering. And I know that as a team, we are MIGHTY and together, we can do any thing, especially for a worthy cause. 10 seasons, 12 events later!" - Natalie Dunbar
"I do TNT for my son 17 year old son Alex and his friend Luke. Alex was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 2. He underwent 131 weeks of chemotherapy and on November 24 with celebrate 12 years off treatment. This April he will be doing his first half marathon for TNT. Luke was Alex's roommate in the hospital. He lost his battle with leukemia and he now watches over Alex as his guardian angel. This year Alex will be graduating from high school. He is my hero and my inspiration. He's the reason I do TNT. Go Team and thank you for all you do to help patients and their families" - Jeniene Cenoz
