Patient honorees are of all ages and come from all walks of
life. They provide inspiration and support to Team In
Training® (TNT) participants throughout the training period.
A honoree is anyone who is being treated for, or a survivor of,
leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma. Families or friends who
have lost loved ones to a blood cancer may become involved by permitting
TNT participants to take part in memory of that family member.
Patient honorees are asked to share their strength and courage with
runners, walkers, cyclists and triathletes training in their honor. Patient
honorees are matched with a TNT mentor and 10 new participants to form
their own "team within a team."
Each training program lasts for about five months. The patient honoree
program will allow you to build a community of new friends who are helping
to find a cure. This program directly links participants to the Society's
mission. The participant's struggle to train is symbolic of the
patient's struggle with the disease.
Patient honoree recruitment is under way! We're always looking for more
people to join this unique program. If you have any questions or are
interested in being a patient honoree, please contact:
