The

Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon - Virginia Beach Team
Daniel
was diagnosed in Aug. of 2005 with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). He is
three years old and in Pre-K. Daniel's birthday is Aug. 15th! His parents
are Bob and Ilsa. Daniel is the youngest in his family and has seven older
brothers and sisters! Daniel loves to play and run around inside and
outside. He loves books and "Signing Times" (a DVD that teaches sign
language). Daniel loves to play with his brothers and sisters and refers to
them as his "friends." Ilsa is especially appreciative of the hard work and
energy that you all will put into your training and fundraising this season
because she has just completed her second event with TNT in March! "Team In
Training and the wonderful work they do has been a way to reach out and
allow other friends and families to help make a difference in lives
affected like Daniel's. While this has been a hard time for all of us as a
family, it has been a time to unite and bond together to help Daniel get
through this." Daniel and his family are thrilled to be a part of TNT
and the VA Beach team! They look forward to getting to know you all this
season!

Jemy was diagnosed in Sept. of 2005 with acute
lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). She just finished chemotherapy!!!! She is
13 years old, and in 7th grade. Jemy's birthday is Jan. 15th! Her parents
are Tom & Jacqueline.

loves arts & crafts. She also loves shopping and cooking. She enjoys
ice skating, swimming, and mountain
biking.

Cruisin' in the Country Cycle Team
Jessica was diagnosed in Feb. of 2007 with chronic myelogeneous leukemia
(CML). After taking Gleevec, Jessica is now in remission! Her birthday is
March 15th! Jessica has a dog and enjoys taking long walks! She is
especially thankful that she can walk and eventually run again!! Jessica
loves to laugh and spend time with her friends. She also enjoys painting
and writing. "I am so deeply touched to be chosen as an Honored Hero. The
Cancer experience has been very hard. As hard as it has been, I have
learned invaluable lessons from this journey. This opportunity to celebrate
life and recognize all that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society gives to us
(as cancer patients) is very meaningful to my family and to me." Jessica

Mallory was diagnosed in Sept. of 2000 with
acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). She is 23 years old, and her birthday is
March 23rd! Her parents are Mike & Leissa. Mallory has two siblings,
Phillip,age 3 and Matt, age 23. Mallory enjoys music, movies, and books.
She also loves ice cream! She loves sports, especially football. She is a
HUGE fan of Peyton and Eli Manning. Mallory is so excited to be
participating in the Nike Women's Half Marathon as well as being the Team's
honored hero! She is thrilled to be such a special part of TNT and the Nike
team! She looks forward to getting to know you all this season!

Bob was diagnosed in Jan. of 2002 with
non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). Bob's birthday is June 7th! Bob is married to
a wonderful woman, Connie. Bob loves the outdoors. He enjoys fly
fishing in fresh and salt water as well as running. Bob is an experienced
runner and has completed 60+ 10Ks, numerous 5Ks, half marathons and a
marathon! He was also previously certified as a distance running coach
with Road Racing Club of America. Bob and Connie are thrilled to be a
part of TNT and the Northside team! They look forward to getting to know
you all this season!

Christine was diagnosed in April of 2001 with acute myeloid
leukemia (AML). Christine's birthday is April 3rd! Christine and her
husband, Max, have 4 wonderful children ages 19, 17, 14, and 6.
Christine enjoys music, movies, and reading. She loves the outdoors
and relishing in the beauty of the world. She also loves family time!

AJ was diagnosed in 2003 with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). His
leukemia relapsed in June 2007. AJ is currently undergoing treatment. He is
13 years-old and his birthday is Jan. 21st. His parents, Charles and Nancy,
said that "He has demonstrated a positive attidude throughout his
treatment." AJ also has an older sister, Jacqueline. He enjoys basketball,
baseball, hockey, video games and card collecting. AJ and his family look
forward to meeting everyone on the Atlanta Half Marathon Team!

Hector Pinero
Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon
Hector was
diagnosed in April 2006 with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Hectors birthday is Dec.
13th. He lives in Heathrow, FL with his wife Maribelle. Hector has two
children. His daughter, Maria, is one of the fabulous Disney mentors this
season! Hector enjoys golf and reading. Hector is very grateful for
all the efforts of Team In Training." He will be a virtual honored hero for
the Disney Team this season! Hector is excited to join you all on the event
weekend and cheer you on as you cross the finish line!

Northside Team
Jill was diagnosed in Oct. 2004 with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Her birthday is
June 16th. She lives in Alpharetta. Jill has been involved with TNT for 3
years and has fundraised almost $20, 000 for LLS! She completed her 1st
triathlon with TNT this past September! Besides being very active in TNT,
Jill loves being at the beach or near the water! She also loves to travel
and spend time in the great outdoors. Jill says ?I am totally open to
talking about my Cancer, so don?t be shy. Ask away!? She is looking forward
to being the Northside Team?s honored hero and getting to know each of you
better!

Karen was diagnosed in Dec. of 1999 with chronic lymphocytic leukemia
(C.L.L). Her birthday is August 28th! She lives in Canton with her
husband, Mike. Karen enjoys cooking and travelling. She and Mike have been
participants and supporters of TNT for years. Last year they both
fundraised and completed the Atlanta Half Marathon! We are so excited to
have Karen back this year as such a special part of the walk team. Karen is
really looking forward to meeting the team and getting to know you!

Kate was
diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL) in April of
2007. She is 5 years-old and her birthday is May 30th. Kate will
begin kindergarten this year. She lives in Decatur with her family. Kate
has two siblings; Jackson is 7 years-old and Ava is 2 years-old. Her
parents, Jason and Carolyn, are excited to become involved with Team In
Training and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Kate enjoys gymnastics,
swimming and drawing. She loves jumping on the trampoline, playing with her
Little Pet Shop toys, and anything Hello Kitty! Kate's mom, Carolyn, will
be joining the Team this season! She will be training and fundraising for
Disney too! Kate and her family look forward to meeting all of you!

Steven Linn Murphy

Marathon
Steven was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in Aug. of
2005. Steven lives in Atlanta, and his birthday is Feb. 9th.
Steven enjoys playing piano and singing in the chorus. He loves old black
and white movies from the 1940's and 1950's. He even has a section of his
home dedicated to the most famous actors of the silver screen from that
time period. Steven is really excited to be part of the Phoenix team this
season and can't wait to get to know all of you! He wants you to know "I
have been in remission 2 times, but unfortunately relapsed in Dec.
2006. Although this might seem upsetting to people with chronic
disease and disability, my resolve is stronger than ever just knowing there
are people and sponsors out there who care and are willing to provide
support to those of us who battle leukemia, other blood cancers and cancer
in general to research and fight these debilitating diseases. I thank
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with all my heart for fighting for our
health and related causes. God Bless you."

completed his freshman year at Georgia State University. He enjoys

has two younger sisters named Ariana and Téa. Maia enjoys reading,
painting, cooking, dancing, and writing. Maia loves the outdoors and

Meredith was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in
December of 2002. She was 19 years old and a sophomore at the College
of Charleston when she was diagnosed. Currently, Meredith lives in Atlanta.
She is 24 years old and her birthday is January 18th. Meredith enjoys
cycling, playing golf, sailing, travelling and cooking. She is also
involved with her church. Meredith is really excited to be part of the
Marine Corps team and can?t wait to meet everyone!

Rebecca was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in June of 2005.
She is 30 years old and her birthday is May 26th. Rebecca lives in Atlanta.

friends, music, reading, and theather. Her younger sister had Hodgkin
lymphoma and has been in remission for over 10
years!! Rebecca is really excited to be part of the Nike team and can?t

Taylor is 22 years old and was recently diagnosed with
Hodgkin lymphoma. Her birthday is May 5th. Taylor is currently attending
the Medical College of Georgia and studying nursing.
Taylor is moving back from Athens to live with her family. Taylor?s parents
are Penny and Tim. Taylor is a triplet and has 2
brothers, Adam and Evan. She also has an older brother named Conor.
Taylor enjoys running, cycling, hiking, camping, and reading. She
also loves children and dogs. Taylor is excited to be
a part of the triathlon teams this season and can?t wait to meet
everyone!

side effects were to happen to anyone, they would happen to Davis. But even
during all of this - his attitude has always been so

Dec. of 2005. Amelia is 5 and in kindergarten at Simpson

15-month-old sister, Emma. Amelia is a very energetic
little girl who has not allowed cancer to consume her life. She loves
swimming and playing like any other 5-year old little girl.

He has 4 children with ages ranging from14 to 19. Ed's
wife, Libba Repa, has been his personal hero and even participated in the
TNT triathlon program! Ed's hobbies include cycling, hiking, camping,
fishing, reading and music. He is very excited about being part of the
team.

Southside Team
Justin was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL)
on Nov. 12, 2003.
He was sent directly from the pediatrician's office to Children's
Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite for a blood transfusion because of his
severe anemia. He stayed in the hospital for the first week and
started chemotherapy. The first year was pretty rough for
Justin because he had to take many different types of
medicines and shots. These were difficult times where he lost his hair and
did not feel well many days. He now only has TWO treatments left and he is
so happy, as we all are!! Justin is a happy third
grader at White Oak Elementary and has many friends. His treatments
have not kept him from playing baseball and basketball.

June of 2004. She is 4 and lives in Alpharetta with her parents,

her birthday is Jan. 5th. She lives in Powder Springs with her parents,
Mark and Kay, and brother, Matthew. Ali will be in 10th grade this year at
Dominion Christian High School. Her favorite hobbies are
horsebackriding and playing tennis. Ali is really excited to be part of the
Phoenix team this season and can't wait to get to know all of

Ilene was diagnosed with Hodgkin
lymphoma in April of 2001. She went through eight treatments of
chemotherapy and 30 days of radiation. Her interests include yoga and
watching foreign/independent films. Ilene is really looking forward to
being the team honored hero and getting to know you!

Atlanta Half Marathon Team
Josh was diagnosed in Sept. of 2000 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
(ALL). He is 9 years old, and his birthday is Jan. 14th. Josh
lives in Dawsonville with his parents, CJ and Sally and sister, Shelby. He
will be in the 4th grade this fall at Blacks Mill Elementary. He
loves soccer, video games, swimming and going to the beach! Josh will have
been off treatment for 3 years this Sept.!! He is really looking forward to
meeting the team and getting to know you!

Mikaela
Northside Team
Mikaela was diagnosed in Jan. of 2005 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
(ALL). She is 8 years old, and her birthday is Dec. 13th. She
lives with her parents, Rhonda and Josh. Mikaela will be in the 3rd grade
this fall at Rebecca Minor Elementary. She loves riding her bike,
roller skating, swimming and playing with her friends. She
also likes to color and draw! Mikaela is doing very well and is so happy to
be getting better! She can't wait to meet the team!
2006 Fall Honored
Hero - Michelle Nikitaides
Nike Marathon and Half Marathon Team
Michelle was diagnosed July 2005 with Follicular Lymphoma. She was in
Stage 4, had it in her bone marrow, and had more than 20 tumors from
head to toe. Michelle had eight chemotherapy treatments
and eight Rituxan treatments. Her last treatment was Feb. 1, 2006
and is now in 100% remission!
Michelle's husband is Michael, and their four children are Blake,
Courtnie, Brandon and Jacob. She trained for the San Diego
Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, held on June 4, 2006. Michelle was
the "Honored Hero" for that event as well. As one of Georgia's Honored
Heroes, Michelle says she continues to give thanks to all of you
that are helping find a cure for The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society. She is looking forward to meeting everyone!

Judy Urbanick
Dublin Team
Judy was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) in July of 2004.
Judy lives in Gainesville with her husband, Gregory. Judy enjoys going to
church, singing in the choir and playing in the handbell choir and
orchestra. She also plays the piano and likes reading, quilting, cooking
and horses. Judy recently began running her own espresso bar
business! Judy is excited to meet everyone on the Dublin team!

Father Joseph Peek

Father Joseph Peek was diagnosed with chronic
myelogenous leukemia (CML) in Feb. of 2002. He lives in Norcross and really
enjoys reading, music and theater. He is also a chaplain in the US Navy! He

Katie who is 5. Gracie loves "Dora the Explorer" and enjoys playing on her

days of radiation. Joshua is off treatment now and is coming up on 5

During his treatment, he endured two rounds of chemotherapy and a
transplant at the Fred Hutchison Cancer Center in Seattle. Rick has 3

Daniel is 15 years
old and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in August1992 & was
also diagnosed in June 1995 with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Daniel
is in eighth grade at Alton C. Crews Middle School. His hobbies and
interests include: hunting and fishing. He also loves cats and cartoons!
Daniel has two siblings. His brother Ben is 18 years old and his sister
Allison is 13 years old. His younger sister Allison was his bone marrow
donor!
Ethan - Augusta Team 2005
Ethan is 13 years old and
was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in July of 2001.
He was treated with chemotherapy for 3 years. "I like to keep educated and
informed about my cancer and the problems that come with it." Ethan, an
eighth grader at Greenbrier Middle School, enjoys playing video games,
riding golf carts and bikes and hiking on vacation. He is an animal lover
and proud owner of six cats and one dog. In addition, Ethan is a member of

Amanda is 24 years old. She

Hodgkin lymphoma in Feb. of 2004. Amanda completed her six-month
chemotherapy treatment this past September. She recently received her first
post-chemo scan which stated that everything was normal. Great news! Some
of Amanda's interests include: yoga, reading, dancing, creative board

Kathleen is always a great help in the kitchen. She has one sister,
Aine, who is 8 years old.

Bobby, 10, was born on Dec. 9. He was
diagnosed with ALL in June 1997. Bobby's hobbies include baseball, Boy
Scouts, reading, animals, traveling and running with his mom. He also loves
to play with his friends and brother. He looks forward to participating in
his first Team In Training event when he gets old enough. And Bobby
LOVES Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. He lives with his parents,
Bryan and Mary Beth, and his brother, Matt.
Maddie - Northside Team - Spring

Maddie, 10, was born on Dec. 11. She was diagnosed with ALL in October
2002. Maddie's sister, Lily, is 3 years old. Maddie enjoys art,
swimming, learning about any animal or bug, and her biggest love is
horseback riding. Maddie even has her own pony, who is now a
therapeutic riding pony for Dreampower. Maddie loves to help with the
horses and is often known as the Horse Whisperer.
Bruce Morgan - Athens Team - Spring

Bruce was diagnosed with a chronic form of leukemia in January 2001.
He has a 20-year-old daughter. Bruce remains active, and his biggest
interests include gardening and playing the guitar. He is looking forward
to getting to know everyone.
Cynthia Smith - Southside Team - Spring
2004
Cynthia was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August 2001. She has
three children: Denzel, 10; Keith, 16; and Courtney, 21. Cynthia lives
with her husband and children. She enjoys dancing, playing cards, going to
church and sporting games, especially football and baseball.
