Triathlons

Team In Training's triathlon program offers the opportunity to take on the challenge of swimming, cycling, and running an Olympic-distance triathlon and make a difference in the lives of an estimated 1,012,533 people in the United States living with, or in remission from, leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma.

Along with a customized-training program and expert coaching, participants will train with a local group of like-minded individuals for motivation and inspiration.

Please note that participation in a TNT event is subject to the local availability of group training and transportation arrangements. Other shorter and/or longer triathlon events may be offered. Please consult the TNT staff at your local chapter for additional details.


The Nation's Triathlon, to Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society  Washington, DC - September 8, 2013
Olympic Distance Triathlon: .9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run

The Nation's Triathlon® is the most spectacular triathlon course in the world. It is truly a one-of-a-kind course route that takes competitors through the heart of the Capitol of the United States of America! Through cooperation with government agencies, the race has gotten permission to close Pennsylvania Avenue, Constitution Avenue, Rock Creek Park and a host of other roads, boulevards and avenues. The entire course is closed to traffic by Metropolitan and US Park Police so no traffic will be on the course.

Hotel accommodations: TNT will cover the cost of a 3 night hotel stay a desirable downtown Washington, D.C. hotel. Hotel details will be provided at recommitment. TNT covers the cost of ˝ the room rate for each TNT participant. TNT participants have the option of rooming with another TNT participant, or reserving the other half of the room for their guests. Hotel arrangements will be made at recommitment. Airfare/No airfare fundraising options available to all participants.

ESi Ironman 70.3 Augusta  Augusta, GA - September 29, 2013
Half Ironman Distance Triathlon: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run

Ironman 70.3 Augusta will offer athletes the unique opportunity to race in two states, as the cycling portion of this event will take athletes into the great state of South Carolina. Prior to the bike portion, athletes will swim a 1.2 mile point-to-point course in the Savannah River exiting at the Augusta Rowing Club Complex and the Augusta public boat launch. Athletes will then cycle a single-loop 56 mile bike course through the beautiful countryside of South Carolina before returning to the Georgia side of the Savannah River and the city of Augusta, GA. Finally, athletes will run a two-loop course consisting of 13.1 miles, through the downtown community of Augusta finishing near the Augusta Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Hotel accommodations: TNT will cover the cost of a 2 night hotel stay at the Augusta Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. This convenient race weekend hotel is at the heart of the event weekend, located right near the start/finish. This is also the host hotel for the race and packet pickup. TNT covers the cost of ˝ the room rate for each TNT participant. TNT participants have the option of rooming with another TNT participant, or reserving the other half of the room for their guests. Hotel arrangements will be made at recommitment.

Please note: The Augusta 70.3 Half Ironman is not for beginner triathletes. You must have completed an Olympic or International distance triathlon or have a strong swimming background in order to participate in this event. All registrants will be evaluated by the TNT swim coach before your registration will be finalized.

All Ironman Augusta 70.3 participants will need to register themselves for the event at http://ironmanaugusta.com/. All participants can select the option to be reimbursed for their race application. Reimbursements will be processed when the participant reaches their fundraising minimum.
