Welcome to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's

Central Texas  Chapter Team In Training®

Since its inception in 1988, TNT has trained more than 380,000 people and raised over $900 million to support blood cancer research and patient services.  If you'd like to experience the thrill of walking or running a half or full marathon, cycling a century (100 mile) bike ride or completing a triathlon while making a difference in the lives of more than 894,543 Americans living with blood cancers - then Team In Training is for you!

Whether you plan to walk your first marathon or to complete your 10th endurance event, TNT is the life-changing program for you. Make great friends, get in the best shape of your life and travel to wonderful destinations while accelerating a cure for blood cancers.

We offer training programs in both the Austin and Waco/Temple areas. For more information on the training available in these two areas please visit our Austin Details page and our Waco/Temple Details page.

When Ed Stone joined Team In Training at age 26, he had already learned the hard way that "what doesn't kill you makes you strong." As a young college student, he was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, a cancer that nearly ended his life. It took a risky bone marrow transplant to save him. During the next 13 years, he battled and persevered through two additional types of cancer.

As if battling cancer weren't enough, at the same time, Ed trained with TNT for no less than 12 events, including marathons, half marathons, century (100-mile) bike rides and eight triathlons!

"Cancer and the challenges of treatment taught me a few things about endurance," said Ed. "When I learned I could train with TNT and raise funds for cancer research to help others, there was no stopping me."

Ed is living proof of the "mind-body connection." He has beaten cancer and evolved into a world-class athlete. He is the living answer to the question: "I wonder if I could do an endurance event?" And the answer is, with "Team In Training, yes you can!"
