The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In
Training® (TNT) provides you, the athlete, with as much
information, guidance and support as possible. As the world's largest
endurance sports training program of its type, TNT takes pride in your
success. We want to see you at the finish line.
The TNT program is designed for runners,
walkers, cyclists and triathletes of all skill levels and abilities.
Training programs are often broken down by skill level and experience. All
TNT participants will receive valuable information on nutrition, apparel
and injury prevention based on the sport they choose.
Run
Runners may be at varied levels of fitness
ability. We offer both novice and veteran schedules for our runners.
Our coaches will provide each athlete with a pre-training
schedule that will assist our novice athletes in running four
miles on their first long run of the training season.
Our veteran schedule is complete with speed workouts along the way to help
experienced runners set new personal records. Our coaches will be by your
side to work with you based on your experience and help you set goals.
Walk
Walk your way to the
finish line. Walking is energy efficient and less stressful on the body -
all key elements needed to successfully walk a full or half marathon. It is
a great way to begin your endurance training experience. Walking will allow
you to build up your miles with a low-impact workout. Our coach will give
you a schedule that will ramp up your miles throughout the 16- to 20-week
training program.
Runners and walkers train together. There are coach led runs/walks every
other Sunday morning at 8 a.m at The McConnell Heart Health Center.
On off weekends, trainers will arrrange group training
for athletes on Saturday mornings.
Cycle
TNT's cycling
program provides an opportunity for people of all ages and athletic ability
to improve aerobic fitness through cycling. Our coaches will get you ready
to experience and complete a 100-mile century ride.
Whether you are an avid cyclist or just starting
out, we will provide you with the training and the technical skills
you need. Cyclists meet on Saturday mornings at varied locations in the
Central Ohio area to experience different trails and surroundings. This is
a great opportunity to improve all aspects of your cycling skills while
training with a team.
Triathlon
A triathlon is a
multi-sport event that combines swimming, cycling and running and is among
the most intense endurance challenges. Team In Training will be training
participants to complete either a sprint or an olympic distance triathlon
under the leadership of our experienced coaching staff. Group training
sessions will be held twice a week in the form of one swimming
training and one brick training (bike/run), based out of the Dublin
Community Center and various local bike paths.
- Sprint distance: 0.5-mile swim, 18-mile bike, three-mile run
- Olympic distance: 0.9-mile swim, 25-mile bike, 6.2-mile run
Clinics will be held on proper swimming techniques, bike maintenance,
running shoe fit, nutrition, and wet suit fitting. Wet suits will be
provided to all recommitted participants.
